The Law Office of Barney, Grossman, Dubow & Troy, LLP is a general practice that can trace its history back for approximately 50 years, providing valued and effective legal services for our clients. Its current partners are Peter G. Grossman, David A. Dubow and William J. Troy III, all of whom have extensive knowledge, proficiency and experience.

Peter Grossman is a 1973 graduate of Northwestern University and a 1976 graduate of the Washington College of Law of American University. After over forty years of experience in general practice, he has focused his practice in the areas of commercial and residential transactions, small business formation and management, trusts and estate planning, probate and estate administration and municipal law. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, serving as a member of the House of Delegates from 1991 to 1994 and from 2014 to the present. He is a member of the Tompkins County Bar Association having served as Secretary of the Association from 1983-1991 and as a member and Chairman of the Tompkins County Bar Association Grievance Committee from 1990 to the present.

David Dubow is a 1973 graduate of Lafayette College and a 1976 graduate of Cornell Law School. He has more than 40 years of experience focusing on various areas of the law, currently including corporate, transactional, municipal, governmental and environmental matters. He is admitted to practice law before all the Courts of New York State and the United States District Court for the Northern District. He is also a long-standing member of the New York State Bar Association and a previous member of its House of Delegates, as well as a member of the New York Conference of Mayors.

William Troy is a 1975 graduate of Georgetown University and a 1978 graduate of Fordham Law School. He is a former prosecutor in the New York County District Attorney’s Office and has over 38 years of experience in trial and appellate practice. He is admitted to practice law before the Courts of New York State, all of the United States District Courts for New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He handles civil and criminal litigation, with particular expertise in matters involving personal injury, subrogation, contract disputes, criminal defense, insurance, construction disputes, premises liability, collections and appellate practice. Mr. Troy is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association and the Tompkins County Bar Association. He also serves as an Adjunct Instructor in Trial Advocacy at the Cornell University Law School.
